Lynk&Co TPMS Relearn Explained: Auto, OBD, and Stationary Procedures That Work

A 2023 Lynk&Co 01 rolls into the bay ten minutes after a tire rotation down the street. No leaks, no curb rash, pressures dead even at placard. The tire pressure lamp is on anyway — flashing at key-on, then steady. Anyone who’s turned a wrench on a Geely-group vehicle knows exactly what happened: the wheels moved, the sensor IDs didn’t follow, and the ECU is now hunting for a front-left sensor that’s sitting on the right rear hub.

That’s not a fault. It’s a mapping problem, and it’s fixed with a relearn. There are three ways to do it, and none of them are difficult once you know which one the car in front of you supports.

Why the Light Comes Back After Routine Work

Lynk&Co runs a direct TPMS across the lineup — the 01, 02, 03, 05, 06, 08 and 09 — built on the same architecture Geely uses throughout its Galaxy and Zeekr ranges. Each wheel carries a 433 MHz sensor broadcasting its unique ID alongside pressure and temperature data, roughly once a minute at speed and on demand when the ECU polls it at low speed. The body controller stores those IDs against specific wheel positions.

Move the tires and the map breaks. Fit new sensors and the ECU has never met them. Either way, the dash does precisely what it was designed to do: complain until somebody re-registers the IDs.

Two things catch shops off guard. First, these systems are strict about position — unlike some older platforms that just listen for four IDs anywhere on the axle, Lynk&Co wants front-left to actually be front-left. Second, everything runs on 433 MHz. Techs splitting their week between imports and US-market vehicles sometimes grab a 315 MHz profile out of muscle memory and get nothing but silence from the trigger gun.

The Three Relearn Methods

Automatic relearn — the drive cycle

The zero-tool option, and the one the owner’s manual leads with.

  • Bring all four tires to the placard pressure on the door-jamb sticker.
  • On most model years, open the vehicle settings menu and run the tire pressure calibration/reset so the ECU starts from a clean baseline.
  • Drive continuously above roughly 40 km/h (25 mph) for 10 to 20 minutes. Steady cruising works best; a stop-and-go crawl may not give the receiver enough samples to lock on.
  • Watch the display populate each corner. Once all four report in, the lamp clears itself.

This works well when the sensors are already known to the car and merely changed positions during a rotation. It does nothing for a fresh set of sensors the ECU has never seen — for that, you need an OBD write.

OBD relearn — the shop standard

Five to ten minutes start to finish, and the method I’d use on any customer car.

  • Connect your TPMS tool’s OBD module to the DLC under the dash. Autel’s TS508-class units, Launch X431 paired with the TSGUN, and ATEQ’s VT56 all carry Geely-group coverage — update the tool first, because new model coverage tends to land with software releases rather than hardware.
  • Select the exact model and year. The menus mirror the VIN breakdown, so don’t guess.
  • Read the stored IDs from the ECU. This confirms communication and gives you a baseline before you touch a wheel.
  • Start at the front-left corner. Hold the tool low against the sidewall beneath the valve stem and trigger the sensor. It wakes, broadcasts, and the tool displays the ID. Work around the car in whatever sequence the tool prompts — the screen walks you through it.
  • Write the new IDs to the ECU in the prompted order.
  • Key off, key on, and confirm the dash shows live pressures at all four corners. A short drive settles any stragglers.

Stationary relearn — when the car can’t leave

Some Geely-group platforms will accept new IDs over the air with the ignition on and the car parked: trigger each sensor in sequence, and the receiver logs them without a drive cycle. Whether a given Lynk&Co model supports this depends on year and market, so check the owner’s manual or your tool’s procedure library before promising a customer a no-drive fix.

If the model doesn’t document a stationary mode, don’t fight it. Run the OBD write instead — functionally it accomplishes the same registration, and the dash will show pressures immediately without the drive. Treat stationary relearn as a convenience certain cars offer, not a guarantee.

Tools, Torque, and the Right Replacement Sensor

What the job actually requires:

  • TPMS activation/programming tool with current Geely-group coverage and an OBD module
  • Torque wrench reading in inch-pounds — clamp-in valve nuts on these sensors take roughly 4 Nm (about 35 in-lb). Snug, not gorilla-tight; over-torque cracks the seal and hands you the slow leak you’ll be chasing next month.
  • A fresh sealing grommet and nut every time a sensor comes out of a wheel. Reusing them is false economy.
  • Valve core tool and a little bead lube for the dismount.

– Writing IDs without waking the sensors first. New sensors frequently ship in sleep mode; a quick LF trigger confirms each one is alive before you commit it to memory.

– Skipping the in-menu calibration after seasonal pressure changes. The lamp isn’t always a sensor problem — sometimes it’s just November.

– Reusing a crushed grommet. If the sensor came out, the seal gets replaced. No exceptions.
