A 2025 HAN DM-i rolled into our bay last week with the tire pressure warning lit and the right-rear reading nothing but dashes. The owner had already been to two shops. One wanted to sell him a full set of four sensors. The other told him the system needed “dealer programming.” Neither was true — and neither had actually pulled codes. Read the Car Before You Break the Bead
Don’t guess. Scan first. A proper OBD tool with BYD coverage will show you which wheel has dropped out versus which is just low. A flat spot in pressure usually means a slow leak at the valve stem or bead — sometimes fixable without opening the tire. A missing signal entirely points to a dead sensor battery or physical damage, and that’s when replacement makes sense.
Confirm the frequency while you’re at it. BYD runs 433MHz hardware on the HAN DM-i, and mixing in a 315MHz unit from a US-market application will pair with nothing and leave you chasing ghosts. Match the OE number off the existing sensor if the customer still has it — on recent builds that’s typically EUEA3609200B or its equivalents.
The Swap, Step by Step

Floor jack and stands, lug socket, a torque wrench that reads inch-pounds, valve core tool, the correct deep socket for the retaining nut (measure it — clamp-in nuts vary between kits), bead breaker or tire machine, rim protectors, soapy water, and an OBD scanner with BYD coverage. A TPMS activation tool helps with verification but isn’t strictly required on this platform.
Out with the old
Break the bead on the affected corner and rotate the tire until the valve stem sits opposite the sensor’s rest position in the drop center. Remove the retaining nut, pull the stem through, and lift the sensor body out through the drop center — don’t force it past the bead seat. Note the orientation before it comes out. Photograph it if you’re unsure.
In with the new

Rebalance the wheel. Skipping this is lazy, and customers feel it as highway vibration they didn’t have before.
Relearn, Verify, Road Test
Because the replacement arrives pre-programmed, the remaining work is registration. On the HAN DM-i you’ve got two paths: a static relearn through the vehicle’s service/settings menu if your scanner supports it, or the dynamic method — set all four tires to placard pressure, then drive above roughly 40 km/h for 15 to 20 minutes while the system localizes itself. Confirm all four IDs appear in the correct corners and that displayed pressures match your handheld gauge within about 0.1 bar.
Wheel bolt torque on most HAN DM-i trims runs 110–120 N·m — verify against your data for the specific wheel.
Common mistakes we see on this job: over-torquing the retaining nut until the housing splits (it won’t leak immediately — it fails weeks later); reusing the old rubber grommet because “it looked fine”; installing the sensor body against the bead area where it gets hammered every rotation; and handing the car back before the relearn completes, which guarantees a callback with the same dash warning.
